Establishment of Phulera Dham Temple
While searching for a suitable place, a proposal came to Guruji to acquire land in the temple premises of Dadi Maharaj Ji, near Dhauli Pyau in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. This land was handed over to Shri Guruji by the village head (Phulera) after passing a resolution from the Gram Sabha.
Interesting Facts
The foundation stone for the construction of the temple was laid on April 9, 2009.
Before the foundation stone was placed, a huge banyan tree, supposedly 300 years old, stood on the appropriate plot. The cutting of these trees (which are revered) by any religious person is considered a great sin. A problem now arose but Guruji was unwavering in his faith. "As per Balaji Maharaj wishes, the temple will be built here."
A few days later, a violent storm resulted in the enormous banyan tree being uprooted and falling to the ground like an ordinary tree. Another banyan tree of the same age stands proudly within the campus at a distance of about 100 meters. The uprooting of the banyan tree is considered an astonishing miracle by the villagers and believed to be nature’s way of bowing to Divine will, thus paving the path to the establishment of the temple.
Idol Installation
The installation of the grand idol was the most important part of the temple. The idol was made under special supervision in Dausa, Rajasthan. The Prana Pratishtha ceremony of Balaji Maharaj’s idol, conducted under the guidance of Pandits, lasted for a week. The idol of Shri Balaji Maharaj faces south, a direction given special importance by the pandits and gurus as it is particularly fruitful.
Importance
The Phulera Dham Temple is also home to the Akhand Jyot, brought by Guruji Maharaj and members of the Sangath from Mehndipur Dham, Rajasthan after a tireless padyatra covering a distance of 325 km. The padyatra started in Rajasthan, went across Haryana, through Delhi and finally across Uttar Pradesh border, to reach the Phulera Dham temple where the Akhand Jyot was established to the accompaniment of enthusiastic kirtans.
