Guruji Shri Balji Maharaj

Guruji Shri Baljit Ji Maharaj

Introduction

The term ‘Guru’ traces its origin from Sanskrit, and is made of two words; ‘Gu’ meaning darkness and ‘Ru’ meaning light. Therefore, Guru is someone who brings you out of the darkness of ignorance by giving you the light of knowledge.

It has taken about twenty years for Balaji Dal to assume its present form. The foundation for the institution was laid in the native village of Shri Guruji in Tharu district, Sonepat (Haryana) at the turn of the new millennium (December 2000). At the ancestral village and personal residence of Guruji, physical and mental ailments were resolved by him.

Gradually, Shri Guruji's fame spread beyond the borders of Haryana. At the request of devotees, he started addressing the sangath family in Delhi as well.

“ Food is energy for the body; while hymns are energy for the soul ”

Shri Guruji inspires all of us to be devoted to God. He asks every member of Balaji Dal to chant Hanuman Chalisa (21 times) in the morning and evening in the presence of a sacred jyot.

Shri Guruji instructs everyone in the Sangath to abstain from meat, alcohol, garlic and onions till their mental and physical ailments are resolved. When someone consumes satvik food, pure thoughts come into the mind and it becomes easier to devote oneself to disciplined worship.

Shri Guruji explains that food made daily in the house should first be offered to God as Bhog. By offering bhog to Balaji Maharaj, the food becomes prasad. By consuming daily prasad we are taking the positive energy and the negative energy is taken away by god.

Disciplined and regular prayers help in creating a protective circle around us so that we can face the troubles in our life without being afraid of them.
